How To Reset A Takagi Tankless Water Heater?

Above, I mentioned the location of the reset buttons on the Takagi Water Heater. What you need to do next is- just follow the steps I described below to reset the unit: 

  • Confirm no water is going through the water heater. 
  • If you install a temperature remote controller, don’t forget to shut the power off to the remote. 
  • Turn the power off to the tankless unit and turn the power on again. 
  • Remove the front access panel to access the reset buttons. 
  • Locate the two reset buttons (INC and DEC) on the computer board. 
  • Push and keep pressing the INC and the DEC buttons simultaneously for a few seconds until the red LED comes on. 
  • Afterward, release those two buttons and turn off the unit. Then, turn the water heater on again, and you can find the water heater is reset.

    I have a takagi th3-dv-p (propane) water heater and got error 111 (ignition issues) while it was running (we were using it for a few continuous hours). Takagi asked me to flush the heater and then reset it. I used your procedure above to reset but it didn’t resolve the issue. Gas pressure is fine. Any ideas? Thank you !
