Thank you for this very informative article and files. My builder, and all of his flunkies, including his “handy man” plumber installed a brand new AO Smith water heater with very little water in it. It passed home inspection usage but then stopped heating due to the obvious heating element toasting itself out. (Of course, they acted like it was a faulty unit and not admitting the water too low) And now, I know how to check and adjust the settings, and already feel like I know more than them. lol! I want to give it another week after adjusting the temperature to 140 to see if it has any other issues or has just been on the wrong setting.
