Honeywell 360 Surround Heater doesn’t work if the safety features get activated. Besides, obstructions in the heater, broken or wiring issues, or if the unit reached its desired setting will cause the unit to not work properly.

1. One of The Safety Features Get Activated

If your Honeywell 360 Surround doesn’t work or it goes shut off unexpectedly, I bet one of its safety features gets activated. This unit is equipped with several safety features, including: 

360° SafetyTIP™ is a tip-over switch. If the unit falls over or tips over accidentally, this switch turns off the unit automatically. 

Turns out, this unit has a high temperature safety control to prevent overheating. The heater is also equipped with a thermal cut-off fuse that will cut off electric supply to the unit if the heater is operating at a higher than normal temperature.  

How To Fix: 

I recommend you place the heater on a firm, solid, and open surface. Never keep the heater on an unstable surface that will cause the tip-over switch to get activated.

  1. Plug the heater into an electric outlet and set the Power knob to High. 
  1. Turn the Thermostat Control fully clockwise to the Highest setting. 
  1. Once the room reaches a comfortable temperature, slowly rotate the Thermostat Control counterclockwise until the heating element goes to the off position. This is the point at the Thermostat Setting equals your room temperature. And this setting will automatically turn on and off your heater to maintain the selected temperature. 

3. Obstructions In The Heater

Foreign objects or blockage in the exhaust opening or air filters can cause the heater to not work. In the worst case, it may even damage the internal parts of your Honeywell 360 Surround Heater. 

How To Fix: 

Turn off the heater and unplug the unit from the power source. Next, leave the unit for 15 minutes to let it cool down.

Then, check the air filter or exhaust opening for blockage. If you find any obstructions, remove them by vacuuming up the filter. After that, re-plug the heater and turn it on according to the operational manual.
